About the artist
Born in North Syracuse, New York, Melissa Pickett had a lot of influence from the military lifestyle as a child. During this time, she knew she always loved the emotional and transformative qualities of art, but only later in life did she discover her extreme talent and aptitude for it. From there, she was courageous enough to take the plunge and become a professional artist.
A soon-to-be graduate of the Milan Master Program of the Milan Art Institute, she has been practicing her craft since late July of 2023. Though it is an infamously difficult path to follow, Melissa pursues the life of a professional artist, determined to embrace the power of her imagination. In the sage words of Muhammad Ali, "If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it--then I can achieve it." So long as her artistic vision provides, she will continue to create works until she achieves her dreams.
Melissa works from her home studio. She is married with a large family and owns several pets, including dogs, birds, fish, and cats. She loves animals and the outdoors, and those themes overlap into her artworks. She is currently running an online store where she intends on showcasing and selling her paintings for the foreseeable future as way of funding and expanding her career.
